Guiding Lights
Here are some of the guiding lights -- the values, philosophies, traditions, and research -- that guide me and inform the coaching, teaching, and consulting I offer.
Mindfulness & Resilience
"How often do you make visits to yourself?" ~ Rumi
Mindfulness that emanate from ancient wisdom is now well-researched and widely-available by the medical profession to the public at large. Like physical fitness nurtured by regular visits to gym or working with a personal trainer, the mindfulness muscle can be developed through regular practice and working with a mindfulness coach. Integration of the practice in daily life fosters the ability to remain equanimous and flexible when facing life challenges, thus becoming resilient and strong.

Emotional Flexibility
Our emotions are great teachers only if we adopt an approach towards them that is flexible and friendly. Such an approach can be cultivated with guided practice, perspective shifting, and finding a safe space for creative expression and exploration. We can avoid the needless suffering that comes from emotional inflexibility and knee-jerk reactions. Instead, by choosing a wise response arising from growing our emotional flexibility can bring us greater peace, equanimity, and courage.

Cognitive Intelligence
Most of the time, our behavior, shaped by our conditioning, runs on auto-pilot with all its presumptions, prejudices and patterning. Cognitive intelligence or clear-seeing can be developed by gradually removing the cognitive distortions that result from our habitual behaviour and chronic conditioning. The first step is to become aware of those distortions. That is where mindful practices play a crucial role in empowering us to make wise choices in our day to day living and thus reduces stress and anxiety.

Relational Adaptability
Relationships with others play an important, if not the most important, role in our psychological health. This is an area of life teemed with complexity, rewards, and challenges. Forming and maintaining healthy relationships at personal and social levels require equanimity, emotional flexibility and cognitive intelligence. We can cultivate these qualities through mindfulness, helping us foster greater adaptability in our relationships and more joy and peace in our lives.
